JA Lend a Hand - Elsie C Johnson Elementary
Elsie C. Johnson Elementary | 1380 Nautilus Lane Hanover Park, IL 60133
Educator: Korrie McCarry
Dec. 03, 2024 - Dec. 03, 2024 | CT | Tuesday
Time Commitment: Partial Day | Set Date
Junior Achievement will partner with local schools to collect warm winter items, called “Lend a Hand”. JA will supply a flyer to attach to a box for school participants to fill with new winter items—such as gloves, hats, or scarves—for someone in need. These items will distributed throughout the local Chicagoland communities. Participating classrooms will not only collect these donations, but also complete a quick JA lesson on the different ways money is handled—especially when it comes to donating and saving! Elsie C Johnson will complete the JA Lend a Hand lesson, plus an additional lesson for extended learning!

4. Be prepared to HAVE FUN! The JA volunteer experience is not only meant to educate students on financial literacy, but also to connect members of the community with these students so they have ideas for their future careers. Past JA volunteers have expressed how excited students are to see a new face in their classroom, and it’s true! Students love any new experience!
